Learn About Our Ministries

WHERE CAN I SERVE?

As a loving member of Willow Tree African Methodist Episcopal Church, you will soon experience the power of healing through service. Our ministries offer different opportunities for members to give back to the community in honor of Our Savior, who sacrificed so much for us.

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of this church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community and spreads overseas to every nation. Willow Tree African Methodist Episcopal Church has a ministry fit for you, whatever your age and stage of life. Read on to find out more!

WOMEN'S MISSIONARY SOCIETY

Willow Tree A.M.E. is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers.

TRUSTEES

The General Board of Trustees has the supervision of all property of the Church. This includes management, maintenance, development, and use of property under the direction of the church’s Official Board for the support of the programs approved by the congregation.

YOUNG PEOPLE’S DEPARTMENT

By providing meaningful youth training programs and opportunities for leadership in all areas of church life, the YPD is designed to connect youth more fully to the mission of the church and increase knowledge of the African Methodist Episcopal Church history and the scriptures.

STEWARDS

The Board of Stewards serve as advisers to the pastor. A Steward assists the pastor in all administrative capacities, helping to implement courses of action to facilitate decision-making. Stewards serve as spiritual lay leaders of the church - seeking the needy and distressed in order to relieve and comfort them.

CHURCH SCHOOL

MUSIC & CHRISTIAN ARTS MINISTRY (MCAM)

Church School classes are available each Sunday for all ages. The mission of Church School is to recruit, teach, nurture, guide, and prepare both children and adults with GOD's word for Christian Service so that they can effectively live and lead as Christians in an ever changing world.

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our worship services through music, dance, and drama productions. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved in praise through dance. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of our church, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.
